Come spend a Saturday afternoon with Sunny as she prepares to visit her grandmother “Big Momma." Big Momma teaches Sunny how to bake a homemade peach cobbler. Sunny's Peach Cobbler includes primary and extended family. This story is based upon a long-standing story passed down from generation to generation. The original recipe is also included.

-A lesson plan outline is available as a Teaching Guide that assists with meaningful language development, word/concept recognition, and math. This a great story for Teacher-Child interactions in small groups. This is particularly important for supporting the learning of children who may require an individualized approach, as language and literacy experts believe teachers must take an active role in supporting language and literacy development for children at risk of reading difficulties.

-Sunny’s Peach Cobbler fosters vocabulary breadth and depth by providing the recommended integration into group learning, free play, and language, conducive to structured and sequential literacy instruction.
